Architectural History of Palace House Newmarket: Latest research
Chris Garibaldi 


It will be given by Chris Garibaldi, former director of the National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art. His talk is entitled Architecture: History of Palace House, Newmarket – the latest research. Anyone who knew Chris when he was working at the Museum will know of his passion for the history of Palace House. He has now had the opportunity to further his research as he works on his PHD project at the University of Cambridge.  Chris hass unearthed new material which helps our understanding as to how and why Newmarket became such an important place in the 17th and 18th centuries. This year marks the 350 year since  the renovations to the Palace by Charles. An appropriate time to update our knowledge the home of British Sporting Art Trust collection.
