Richard Negus - The Art of the Hedgerow
The hedgerow’s ability to provide a fascinating and unexpectedly accurate guide to socio-economic English history is best told through the medium of art, particularly sporting art. Using the British Sporting Art Trust collection, Richard will give a new and fascinating perspective.
Richard, a former Household Cavalryman is now the foremost expert in Norfolk and Suffolk for hedge laying and hedge management, a skill he learned while at the Quenby Hall Estate. He was employed by the Jockey Club as Head of Fundraising and Communications for Racehorse Welfare before returning to his beloved countryside. He is a keen conservationist, author and co-presenter of ‘CountrySlide’, a weekly podcast hosted along with photographer Callum McInerney-Riley, and outdoor instructor Richard Prideaux.
